SUBURBAN PRIORITIES
Education
Education plays an important role in the life of every Minnesotan, from childhood through adulthood, and in the classroom and outside of it.
Working alongside our local superintendents, principals, teachers, paraprofessionals, parents, and suburban communities, we are committed to developing policies that deliver the direct flexible funding our schools need.
Working together, we can help prepare the next generation of doctors, lawyers, nurses, electricians, plumbers, mechanics, carpenters, engineers, software developers, scientists and more.
Affordability
Suburban families value the quality-of-life Minnesota offers. But, hard-working families are left wondering how affordability is being balanced while it feels like they are paying more and getting less.
We will listen and focus on policies that promote economic opportunities for families and address the rising cost of living. Improving affordability means more money in your budget for housing vacations, youth sports, transportation, education, groceries, preparing for retirement, and more. We can maintain our quality of life and support needs in our community while lowering costs for Minnesota families.
Healthcare
Minnesota is a national leader in health care with low rates of uninsured and many high quality managed care options.
The Suburban Solutions Caucus will focus on policies that drive innovation, reduce costs, and promote common-sense reforms that expand patient centered care, increase quality and transparency, and increase access to affordable care in the private sector and public programs.
We will invest in policies that reward quality, consumer satisfaction and costs savings.
Mental Health
Increasing numbers of Minnesotans are struggling to access mental health services.
The Suburban Solutions Caucus will work with industry professional and providers to expand access with evidence-based intervention, simplify regulations, focus on reimbursement rates that attract providers and stabilize care, identify the out of network challenges to reduce out-of-pocket costs, and work alongside schools and community-based providers to increase access and drive affordable care.
Environment
Minnesota’s outdoors are unmatched. From our over 10,000 lakes, endless trails, abundance of state parks, fishing, hunting, biking, skiing, and hiking, suburban families value the time they spend outdoors.
We know that to ensure our natural resources are protected for future generations, we need to have responsible stewardship, address clean water issues, invest in protecting our wildlife, build a reliable and affordable clean energy system, and be accountable to each other.
The Suburban Solutions Caucus will work to bring a reasonable and responsible approach to protecting Minnesota’s natural beauty for generations to come.
Community Care
Community care and safety comes through forming relationships and trust, education, accountability, and compassion. This includes investing in training and helping recruit dedicated public safety officers that build relationships and trust in our community.
We need to provide resources that build preventative youth community centers, hold individuals accountable for their actions, and invest in rehabilitation so that people can successfully re-enter society.
The Suburban Solutions Caucus will work with local community centers, public safety officers, and the justice system to protect, invest in, and strengthen relationships in our communities.
